Recipients of the Betsy Wilkins Outstanding Patient Care Award
The Carden family poses with Inaugural Wilkins Award PCT recipient, Michael Amarant.

We are proud to recognize the first-ever recipients of the Betsy Wilkins Outstanding Patient Care Award at Bryn Mawr Rehab Hospital:

  • Rose Wing – Nursing
  • Michael Amarant – Patient Care Technician
  • Kelsey Williar – Therapy

Established in 2025 by the Carden Family through the Carden Family Charitable Fund, this award honors the legacy of Elizabeth "Betsy" Mahoney Wilkins, a passionate nurse, dedicated volunteer, and generous philanthropist in the Philadelphia community. Betsy was a devoted Trustee of the Lankenau Medical Center Foundation and the Lankenau Institute for Medical Research within Main Line Health. She is remembered for her strength, loyalty, tireless work ethic, and deep commitment to her family, friends, and community.

Presented annually, the Betsy Wilkins Outstanding Patient Care Award recognizes three Bryn Mawr Rehab employees who work most closely with our inpatient population, including a nurse, a therapist, and a patient care technician. Each recipient exemplifies Betsy's cherished qualities by going above and beyond for their patients and colleagues. Honorees are selected by the BMRH senior leadership team and receive a one-thousand-dollar award in recognition of their exceptional care and dedication.
