A message from the President, Katie Galbraith

It's hard to believe that it has been nearly a year since I fully stepped into the role of Lankenau Medical Center president. In my time here, I have been truly impressed by the dedication, commitment and passion of the Lankenau team to deliver safe, high-quality and equitable care for our patients and the communities we serve. I am constantly reminded of what a very special place Lankenau is — and it's special because of this extraordinary team.

As I continue to spend time talking with and learning from our team members, donors and the community, I've collected a few observations along the way.

Our team is always striving to innovate and be among the best. We are consistently named by US News as one of the top hospitals in the region and state. Main Line Health was also recently presented with the Quest for Quality Prize from the American Hospital Association for our long-standing efforts to improve patient safety and increase equity and inclusion. This award is presented annually to one hospital or health system to honor health care leadership and innovation in improving quality and advancing the health of all individuals and communities. I am proud that Lankenau is a provider of choice, a great place to work, and a hospital that continues to improve the quality of health care.

The community trusts us with its health and wellbeing. From routine to specialized care, I am humbled our patients turn to us as the best hospital to receive care. Throughout my time at Lankenau, I have received many grateful messages from patients and their loved ones, including the following:

"It was, by far, one of the most professional well organized top-notch processes that I have ever witnessed. I am a nurse at another facility. From the admissions office to the pre-op unit, the anesthesiologist, the OR team, PACU and the team on 1 Southwest including the dietary department – every single individual who was involved in my case went above and beyond for me."

Comments like these make me so proud to have joined the Lankenau team.

Finally, because of the trust and support you — our donors — place in us, we can accomplish remarkable work each and every day. From the trailblazing research being conducted at Lankenau Institute for Medical Research to the pioneering cardiac procedures being performed at Lankenau Heart Institute, your generosity helps make this work possible.

While it is good to look at the past, I continue to set my sights on the bright and exciting future for Lankenau. We will remain committed to delivering quality care and a positive patient experience. We will also be looking for opportunities to grow and expand our services. I look forward to sharing more in the months ahead.

I'm incredibly proud to be part of the Lankenau and Main Line Health team — it is both an honor and a privilege to work with such talented professionals, devoted donors and trusting patients.

Yours in service,

Katie Galbraith Signature
