Bryn Mawr Rehab Hospital Volunteer Auxiliary

The mission of the Bryn Mawr Rehab Hospital Volunteer Auxiliary is to serve and support Bryn Mawr Rehab Hospital and the Bryn Mawr Rehab Hospital Foundation through fundraising, volunteer education and engagement, public relations, and volunteer recruitment.

The Volunteer Auxiliary brings passion, skill, and time to its work, taking a leadership role in organizing a variety of successful fundraising and community events, including Designer Bag Bingo, the Holiday Vendor Fair, seasonal raffle baskets, and monthly vendor sales within the hospital. The Auxiliary also supports the Bryn Mart Gift Shop, where proceeds help fund hospital programs and initiatives.

Since 1990, the Volunteer Auxiliary has raised more than $788,000 to benefit Bryn Mawr Rehab Hospital and has supported numerous programs, including:

  • Contributing funds and volunteer support to Art Ability’s annual giving campaigns
  • Supporting Project SEARCH, a workforce transition program for individuals with physical or cognitive disabilities that combines classroom instruction, career exploration, and hands-on training with the goal of achieving competitive employment
  • Contributing to the purchase of physical therapy equipment to enhance patient recovery, including the Lokomat® robotic-assisted walking therapy system and the SMART EquiTest® for balance and mobility rehabilitation
  • Purchasing outdoor tables and benches accessible to patients
  • Refurbishing the Patient and Family Lounge with new flooring, lighting, paint, furniture, a large-screen TV, games, and workstations

The Volunteer Auxiliary continues to grow in response to the evolving needs of patients, supporting a wide range of programs across both inpatient and outpatient care.
