Revitalizing Riddle Hospital’s East Wing
Help patients get the right care, faster
When patients arrive at Riddle Hospital's Emergency Department, many need to be admitted for inpatient care, which frequently includes continuous heart monitoring. Too often, they must wait because there are not enough telemetry-equipped beds available.
As patient volumes continue to rise, these delays affect not only those waiting for a room but also other patients seeking emergency care.
Your support can help change that.
A critical need for our community
Driven by the closing of Crozer Health, Riddle Hospital's Emergency Department cared for more than 60,000 patients in fiscal year 2026, a 30% increase over the previous record year. Growing demand means more patients need specialized inpatient care and continuous cardiac (telemetry) monitoring.
To meet this need, Main Line Health is proud to announce a revitalization of the East Wing at Riddle Hospital, adding telemetry capabilities and modernizing existing patient care space to improve access, efficiency and patient experience.
This project, boosted by philanthropic support, will include:
- Continuous heart-monitoring technology
- 29 central monitoring stations
- Technology and infrastructure upgrades
- Staff education and training on new equipment
These enhancements will allow more patients to receive the care they need in the right setting, at the right time.
Phil Hatfield, DNP, MBA, RN, NEA-BC, FACHE Vice President of Patient Services, Riddle Hospital“Strength in healthcare is measured not only by how we respond today, but by how we prepare for tomorrow. Expanding telemetry capacity means turning pressure into preparedness and crisis into coordinated care.”
