Many members of our community began life at Lankenau Medical Center. With input from our physicians, staff, patients and the community, this investment will ensure that future generations continue to receive advanced, compassionate care close to home in a setting designed to support both clinical excellence and family-centered experiences.
What this renovation will mean for families
This project will:
- Create a more welcoming, comfortable environment for patients and loved ones
- Modernize all 10 labor and delivery rooms and adjoining bathrooms
- Optimize Labor & Delivery staff support stations
- Renovate resident resource room, teaching lounge, waiting room and public corridors
- Establish a dedicated pre- and post-recovery area adjacent to C-section operating rooms
- Support an exceptional birth experience from admission through delivery and recovery
Planned upgrades include:
- New flooring, wall finishes and millwork
- Updated fixtures and furnishings
- New lighting, controls and thermostats
- Modern window treatments and ceiling systems
- Enhanced technology to support multidisciplinary care
